Gelmersmotorsport has developed a conversion based on a YFZ450R, making it possible to install the modern Honda motocross engines.
The conversion kit is available for the following Honda motorcycle years:
- 2018 Honda CRF450 with electric starter kit installed
- 2019+ Honda CRF450
A much-requested conversion. Previously impossible due to space constraints. Now made possible by the Gelmersmotorsport team.
The conversion is very labor-intensive, requiring many new and modified parts. The kit includes the following:
- Hybrid swingarm
- Lowerrail
- Rear frame section Yfz450r
- Engine Mounts
- Case Bushings
- Intake tube
- Airbox
- Reiger Yfzr/CRF Rear shockabsorber
- Lonestar linkage system
- ECU Mounting bracket
Due to the position of the throttle body, the entire rear shock absorber needed to be revised. A solution was developed in collaboration with Reigersuspension. A shorter shock absorber with the same stroke offered the solution. This guaranteed the preservation of the beloved geometry of the Yamaha YFZ450R.
